Profile
A Warwickshire County product, Matthew James Lamb had been a regular for the club in age-group cricket and continued his good showing at Warwickshire second eleven side before making his First-Class debut against Somerset in Septmeber 2016. A right-arm medium pace bowler, Lamb typically bats in the middle-order, a perfect fit for the bowling all-rounder slot. Although he managed 329 runs at an average of 23.50 in his debut season, Lamb failed to make any significant contributions with the ball.

And what also acted against him was the fact that he failed to register a fifty in seven successive innings after his debut. Even though the debut season didn't go to plan, Lamb impressed one and all with his solid technique and temperament at the crease. The following season, in 2017, Lamb didn't get as many games to reaffirm his credentials in the senior side, but he established himself as a valuable asset in the second elevens scoring consistently and at a healthy average.

Lamb's best knock though came against in July 2017, where he displayed great maturity to hold the innings together while composing a gritty 51 against a fiery Middlesex attack in a closely-contested game. Middlesex won that game by one wicket.
