Fazalhaq Farooqi was sent to the hospital for MRI scans for his calf muscle issues, confirmed an Afghanistan Cricket Board official.

Farooqi could not complete his bowling in the opening game against Bangladesh as he was forced to leave in his ninth over.

Farooqi, who was adjudged Player of the Match, was the chief destroyer with 3-24 as Bangladesh could only make 169-9 in their stipulated 43 overs that they won by 17 runs in D/L method.

In the second game he picked 3-22 but ACB officials said that they have sent him for an MRI on Monday as they want a reconfirmation from the medical team regarding his calf muscle issues.

"He faced some problems day before yesterday (in the opening game) and as he was finding some problem we send him to the hospital (today)," he said adding that they are hoping that he will play tomorrow (July 11) in the third ODI against Bangladesh.

Farooqi bowled in full rhythm during the practice session at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on Monday and later in the evening was seen leaving the team hotel for his scan.
